A hands-on factual introduction to the state of AI in education. This course will provide a no-nonsense overview of the technology behind AI and its applications in education, and explore the threats and opportunities it poses.

Anybody working in education who wants to securely understand and use AI.

By the end of this course you will have:

  • learnt about the computer science behind the current crop of AI
  • understood the state of AI in a realistic historical and EdTech context
  • considered ethical concerns around diverse, equitable and responsible education

This course has been designed by John Deans, CTO and Director of Oriel Square.

There is a hands-on element to this course, intended to demystify some of the concepts. The course is designed to give context and clarity where there is so much positive and negative hype.

You will have an engaging in-person and collaborative learning experience, with access to follow-up advice.

Where: This is an in-person course delivered at Oriel Square’s Regency-style office in central Oxford: 29 Beaumont Street, Oxford, OX1 2NP.

How to find us: We are a ten-minute walk from Oxford train station. The nearest car parks are St Giles, Gloucester Green and Worcester St.
